<\/strong>Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un inconfort assez courant chez les athl\u00e8tes et qui se manifeste par une douleur aigu\u00eb et lancinante sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la r\u00e9gion abdominale.<\/p><p>M\u00e9dicalement, on l\u2019appelle <strong>douleur abdominale transitoire (TAP)<\/strong> et elle est li\u00e9e aux caract\u00e9ristiques de l\u2019exercice, c\u2019est pourquoi elle est plus fr\u00e9quente chez les coureurs et les nageurs.<\/p><p><strong>Pourquoi ai-je un point de c\u00f4t\u00e9 lorsque je cours ? <\/strong>Elle est principalement li\u00e9e aux mouvements r\u00e9p\u00e9titifs du torse, bien qu&rsquo;il existe diverses th\u00e9ories sur les causes de son apparition, comme nous le verrons ci-dessous.<\/p><h2><strong>Principales causes des points de c\u00f4t\u00e9 lors d&rsquo;une activit\u00e9 physique<\/strong><\/h2><p><strong>Il n\u2019existe aucune preuve scientifique sur les causes des points de c\u00f4t\u00e9 <\/strong>lors d\u2019une activit\u00e9 physique. Certaines recherches sugg\u00e8rent que la zone o\u00f9 se produit l\u2019inconfort peut \u00eatre li\u00e9e au type de sport pratiqu\u00e9, mais elles ont \u00e9galement tendance \u00e0 relier le point de c\u00f4t\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019intensit\u00e9 des sympt\u00f4mes ou \u00e0 l\u2019apport hydrique avant ou pendant l\u2019exercice.<\/p><p>Une th\u00e9orie qui a depuis \u00e9t\u00e9 rejet\u00e9e \u00e9tait que les points de c\u00f4t\u00e9 se produisaient lorsque nous faisions de l\u2019exercice l\u2019estomac vide ; d\u2019autres experts pensent qu\u2019ils sont dus \u00e0 un manque de flux sanguin vers le diaphragme. Cependant,<strong> il est plus probable que les points de c\u00f4t\u00e9 se produisent en raison d&rsquo;une combinaison de facteurs<\/strong>, tels que :<\/p><ul><li>\ud83d\udcaaL&rsquo;intensit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;exercice r\u00e9alis\u00e9 : plus l&rsquo;intensit\u00e9 est \u00e9lev\u00e9e, plus le risque d&rsquo;apparition de ce trouble est grand.<\/li><li>\ud83e\uded7La consommation de nourriture ou de liquide avant ou pendant la pratique sportive.<\/li><li>\ud83d\udca5\u200bCrampes musculaires dans la r\u00e9gion abdominale.<\/li><\/ul><p>Cette derni\u00e8re peut \u00eatre l\u2019une des principales raisons pour lesquelles les flatulences apparaissent. Cependant, en l&rsquo;absence de consensus scientifique, il existe diverses \u00e9tudes sur le sujet qui mentionnent \u00e9galement d&rsquo;autres causes telles que :<\/p><ul><li>Raideur excessive dans la zone stabilisatrice de la colonne vert\u00e9brale chez les athl\u00e8tes.<\/li><li>La relation entre la colonne vert\u00e9brale et la posture du corps et du pied.<\/li><li>Irritation du p\u00e9ritoine.<\/li><li>Surcharge du diaphragme.<\/li><\/ul><p>De plus, il existe certains sports dans lesquels les points de c\u00f4t\u00e9 ont tendance \u00e0 \u00eatre plus fr\u00e9quents, comme la natation, la course \u00e0 pied, l\u2019\u00e9quitation, l\u2019exercice a\u00e9robique, le basket-ball et le cyclisme. Toutes ces modalit\u00e9s ont pour d\u00e9nominateur commun la course.<\/p><p>Les points de c\u00f4t\u00e9 n&rsquo;ont rien \u00e0 voir avec la taille ou l&rsquo;indice de masse corporelle (IMC) d&rsquo;une personne, bien qu&rsquo;ils soient li\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge, car ils sont moins fr\u00e9quents \u00e0 mesure que vous vieillissez.<\/p><h2><strong>Conseils pratiques pour \u00e9viter les points de c\u00f4t\u00e9 en courant<\/strong><\/h2><p>Il est important de savoir que <strong>les points de c\u00f4t\u00e9 ne sont ni dangereux ni graves<\/strong>, m\u00eame s&rsquo; ils peuvent \u00eatre g\u00eanants car ils peuvent durer entre 15 et 60 minutes.
